Plastics with Biodegradable Additives

Much of our school and office product line uses biodegradable polypropylene (PP-bio) as raw material, including folders, briefcases, and boxes. We also offer fully customized boxes for school kits or other uses. The innovation lies in the biodegradable additive, which makes the plastic’s life cycle controllable. What is it? PP-bio contains a granular additive that, once introduced into the production process, makes the product degradable and biodegradable in a much shorter time compared to conventional PP. This process, known as oxo-biodegradation, complies with ASTM 6954-04 and BS 8472 standards, among others.
The additive retains all the properties of conventional PP while adding a key advantage: rapid decomposition if discarded in nature—degrading faster than straw or tree branches, disappearing in under 4 years. PP-bio can be recycled and reused without altering performance or optical properties.
